Welcome to our first Brew Review post. We plan to make this an occasional post to take a look at some of the events and places we’ve been to recently, based on our regular ‘BrewView’ posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. In this Brew Review we talk about Beer & Bands, WADFest, Heights of Abraham and the BBC Good Food Show.
Beer and Bands
We enjoyed a relaxing May Bank Holiday serving beers at Crich Tramway Village’s Beer and Bands event. The sun shone, the flags flew and the music flowed. The trams were running back and forth and we were joined by Gaol Ales and Brampton Brewery. A happy time was had by all and our beers all sold out!
Riber Gold was popular at We Are Darley Festival at Darley Dale Cricket Club. This was especially rewarding for Rob who opened the bowling for DDCC 1st X11 back in the day.
High Tor and Heights of Abraham
One of our most unusual delivery destinations is the Heights of Abraham. Inaccessible for our van, the only options are to walk or catch the cable cars. So before the Heights is open to the public, the beer is loaded into a cable car and travels up in style! Once in a while, we’re fortunate enough to ride up alongside the beers and the views from The Vista Bar & Restaurant are spectacular; it’s an apt location for our new High Tor beer, the Beer With Altitude!
The BBC Good Food Show Summer 2018
We’ve really enjoyed working with Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire alongside the other Market Town Brewers to showcase the best of Derbyshire’s beers. We attended several meetings at the Old Hall Hotel in Buxton to get our heads together and iron out the difficulties of organising such a high profile event. It really showed how resourceful and helpful our friends in the brewing business can be and it was great to be a part of it!
